The Golden SnailIssue #1December 3rd, 2012Welcome to the first issue of The Golden Snail. This online newspaper is managed and written by the teachers and students in grade 5. This newspaper was conceived from a concern that a grade 5 student raised about the amount of negative news that was being published in the newspapers and broadcast on television. We decided to create a newspaper that allowed the students to take some of the "bad news" that was happening in the world and, using their imaginations and their knowledge of current events, rewrite the news the way they hope it will be in the future. Each issue of the The Golden Snail will be dated two years from the present date and it will include articles written by the students, based on current issues that were chosen by the students.
